Alaska Wildlife
Birds of Alaska: These bird photos are from my August 2019 trip to Fairbanks, Alaska and Denali National Park. The sandhill cranes were numerous in their summer hang-out at Creamer’s Field, just on the outskirts of Fairbanks. I also saw many Canada geese and the Osprey there. The remaining birds below were photographed in Denali Park, including two new life birds for me – the Rusty Blackbird, and the Boreal Chickadee.

Mammals of Alaska: The moose, caribou, and grizzly bears are the large animals that are seen in Denali National Park. Below are some representative shots. The conditions for photography were challenging at best, given the often cloudy weather and how far away the animals tended to be.
